The Victoria: an accessible and modular accommodation facility with some 100 beds, ideally located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil and the largest ski resort in the world.
With shops, ski lifts and a wide variety of tourist, cultural and sporting activities right on your doorstep (including 600 km of signposted mountain bike trails, 550 km of which are specifically for eBikes), you can enjoy a unique experience across the border all year round.
The establishment can be rented out for private and professional events such as banquets, assemblies, and weddings, whether in the bar, the lobby or the magnificent 200-capacity Rotonde.

The Alpine College is a building deeply rooted in Morgins history. Built in 1908, it was first named the “Hotel Victoria” and was immensely popular with the first English tourists to stay in the village in the pre-war years, in a boom time for winter sports. The establishment later became a private school called the “Collège Alpin” (or Alpine College), and this is what locals still call it. For three decades, students from multiple continents made the village of Morgins their home away from home. At last, at the beginning of the 2000’s, the school closed and the house was sold by the owners to become group accommodation under the name “Val-Joie”.
In an effort to preserve the spirit of this ageing building, a building which has left its mark on all the guests who stayed there, the new owners are continuing to provide accessible accommodation in a youthful, sporting and festive environment. In this way, a selection of personalised and fully adapted visitor packages are available to meet your needs: rental only, service plus, half-board, with or without laundry, individual rooms, apartments or group dormitories.
There is an abundance of varied sporting, cultural and tourist attractions in the region. Ideally located at the border with France and open onto the Trois Chablais, the Victoria is happy to host you all year round.
The Victoria is an imposing house, with all its historic identity fully restored. Walk up a granite staircase and you’ll reach a discreet wooden door that has more than a little history behind it. This door has withstood more than a century of storms, late arrivals, harsh winters and, above all, its fair share of “quadze” (a friendly local nickname for our Savoyard neighbours, as well as a twilight wind which blows in from Abondance Valley).
You will certainly feel the history of the house as you enter and immerse yourself in the understated décor and atmosphere. The first English tourists arrived by “diligence” carriages, in search of Alpine exotism. Then came the war and the refugees, the smugglers, the Resistance and the bombings on the 06 August 1944. The frugality of the Private College gave way to the advent of winter sports.
The central staircase is the only way to reach the upper floors, providing the backbone of the house and connecting the thirty-four bedrooms and the apartments under the eaves. A lobby and a bar, the perfect place to while away the time, leads us to the magnificent Rotonde, a luminous, unique and legendary space. A games room, a sauna and a dance club are also available to our guests. Unfortunately, as the house has been kept almost completely unchanged, it is not recommended for people with disabilities.
A large free car park is available in front of the building.
This is the ideal place to celebrate birthdays, weddings, and all of the most important moments of your life. Party until dawn, with accommodation for your guests on site.
The modular Rotonde space has been the venue for a wide variety of events, from weddings and birthday parties to New Year events and even concerts. Guests love the acoustics in this room, which has played host to string orchestras, big bands and memorable jazz evenings around a pair of Steinways. You can even set up a cosy space around the majestic fireplace. With the kitchen, walk-in fridges and freezers and food preparation area, you can prepare your buffets on site or bring in your own caterer.
